About Co-Idea

We are shaping the industry of tomorrow

At Co-Idea, we believe the future of industry is built with the people who bring it to life every day.

Our team brings together people passionate about technology, artificial intelligence, and the field around one ambition: making industrial work simpler, safer, and more effective. With CARDS, we turn workstations into intelligent environments capable of guiding operators, securing every action, and transferring know-how.

We put technology at the service of people so that the intelligence of the hand becomes a true strategic asset for the company.

Technology should increase the capacity to act, not replace those who act.

We believe neither in technology for technology's sake, nor in automation as an end in itself.

01

Industrial innovation only has value when it tangibly helps teams understand, transfer, and execute better.

02

That is why we designed a technology that does not require operators to leave their workstation, isolate themselves behind a headset, or transpose their work into a virtual environment.

03

With CARDS, information joins the real world. It appears directly where the action must be performed, at the moment it becomes useful.

04

Technology does not take the place of human expertise. It gives that expertise greater reach, continuity, and reliability.

From research to the industrial field

Co-Idea was born from four years of research in human-computer interaction and spatial augmented reality.

During his computer science PhD within the Potioc team at Inria Bordeaux, Philippe Giraudeau explored new ways of interacting with digital technology. His goal was to move beyond traditional interfaces and create environments in which people could understand, manipulate, and learn from the physical world.

2018

This work gave rise to a technology capable of projecting interactive content directly onto a real surface and recognizing the gestures, objects, and interactions taking place there.

2020

But technology only becomes innovation when it solves a real problem.

2021

Co-Idea was created to take this research out of the laboratory, put it to the test in the field, and turn it into a solution that is simple, robust, and useful enough to support the most demanding professional environments.

2022

Today, this technology takes the form of CARDS: an interactive projection and guidance solution designed to support operational excellence.

Our story

French and European industry lacks neither know-how, skills, nor exacting standards.

It must nevertheless meet several challenges at once: transferring critical knowledge, integrating new employees, maintaining quality, preventing risks, and improving performance in increasingly complex environments.

Faced with these challenges, the answer cannot be to remove people from the system.

It must enable experience to be transferred more effectively, reduce dependence on individual memory, and make standards easier to apply under real production conditions.

We advocate an industry in which technology:

Brings information closer to the action.

Values skills rather than bypassing them.

Facilitates transfer between generations.

Makes execution safer without making the work heavier.

Transforms company knowledge into a collective capacity to act.

For us, industrial competitiveness and the development of human capital are not at odds. They reinforce one another.

What guides our work

Start with reality

We develop our solutions from the situations teams actually experience: a workstation, a procedure, a constraint, a risk, or a skill to master.

Value is measured not by a technology's visible sophistication, but by its ability to work under real field conditions.

Make complexity useful

Our technology stems from advanced scientific work. Using it, however, must remain natural.

We handle the technical complexity to give teams a clear, accessible experience they can put to use immediately.

Design with teams

Operators, quality managers, safety professionals, trainers, and subject-matter experts are not passive recipients of a tool designed far from the field.

Their experience helps define the right uses, identify constraints, and build solutions that can genuinely be adopted.

Measure what changes

Innovation should not merely impress during a demonstration.

It should help reduce errors, secure controls, accelerate skills development, and improve teams' ability to apply standards over time.

Progress rigorously

Our culture comes from research: formulating hypotheses, observing use, testing, measuring, and improving.

This rigor accompanies every stage, from technology design through field deployment.

Let's build an industry where technological progress becomes operational progress

Are you looking to transfer critical know-how more effectively, secure an operation, or support your teams in applying standards?

We always begin by understanding the field, the constraints, and the expected outcome.
